Republicans' idea of a $1T platinum coin to pay off debts resurfaces

Back in 2021, Lawmakers used a loophole in the law to propose an idea for minting a $1 trillion worth platinum coin that would be deposited to the Federal Reserve to pay off debts.
The idea, which has reportedly been making rounds since Obama's presidency, now looks to be a grand solution for an upcoming crisis.
But the Biden administration have yet to take the idea seriously.
